The event is scheduled for August 16, 2025, and will be hosted at the Hilton Long Island. The planning session was led by Naveen Shah, CEO of Navika Group and Blue Sky Hospitality Solutions, who is spearheading the tribute to commemo- rate the sacrifices of India’s freedom fighters. The gathering drew prominent members of the Indian-American com- munity and several organizational lead- ers, all united by a shared commitment to pay homage to the country’s martyrs through music and remembrance. Representing APS were President Gary Sikka, Senior Vice President Mohinder Taneja, and Vice Presidents Ajay Sondhi and Ravinder Narang, alongside several members of the organization’s advisory board. The leadership expressed their full endorsement and support for the event, highlighting the community’s collective respect for India’s independence move- ment. As part of its contribution, APS has committed to purchasing 100 Elite and 20 Elite Preferred tickets, demonstrating its dedication to ensuring broad community participation and visibility. Despite overcast skies, community spirit shone brightly as residents of all ages gathered at the Monroe Township Senior Center for an evening dedicated to mindfulness, movement, and shared well-being. The event opened with a brief over- view of yoga’s historical and cultural roots, highlighting its evolution into a global practice that transcends borders and promotes mental and physical health. Attendees were reminded of yoga’s relevance in today’s high-stress world — a practice that not only centers the body but calms the mind.
