The event attracted a large gathering and included the Ganesh Vandana and other cultural program including a Kavi Sammelan featureing Anoop Bhargava, Abhinav Shukla, and Dr. Bhuvan Mohini. The Navrang Dance Academy and Nataraja Dance Academy performed colorful dances. There was also a Hindi play per- formed by Amy Meta of the Prayog Theater Group. There was also a health session on metabolic syndrome. The event was a celebration of language, culture and community. Among the distinguished guests was Woodbridge Township Mayor John Mc- Carthy. Introduced by organizers as the longest-serving mayor in New Jersey. Padma Shri recipient Dr. Sudhir Parikh, Chairman of ParikhWorld- wide Media, was a guest of honor, and among those recognized with an award. Dr. Parikh thanked the Mayor for at- tending the community attempt, calling it an honor. The Mayor also presented a recognition plaques to entrepreneur Nitin Seth, “title sponsor “of the event, and to Savitri Kailash Sharma, who along with her husband founded the World Hindi Foundation. The Mayor who said he was invited by Sharad Agarwal, read a proclamation recognizing theWorld Hindi Founda- tion, founded in 2000, for “maintain- ing the mission of promoting global awareness of Hindi, support economic development, and preserve cultural identity among Hindi-speaking commu- nities. The proclamation praisedWHF for hosting annual Hindi conventions with cultural programs and youth en- gagement, publishes a Hindi magazine, provides scholarships and academic support to Hindi students throughout partnership with universities to estab- lish Hindi programs.” Seth, speaking in Hindi to ITV Gold, noted that Hindi was the mother tongue of those at the gathering, He noted that while everyone was born in India, and is now in the US, Hindi is the lifeline and a link to their culture. In a global- ized world, he said, it was important to protect one’s own heritage. Mayor Sam Joshi To Join Governor Murphy On New Jersey India Economic Mission M ayor Sam Joshi will join New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy on the upcoming New Jersey India Economic Mission, an initiative coordinated by Choose New Jersey. The delegation, begin- ning its work in New Delhi, seeks to strengthen business ties between India and New Jersey through a series of high-level briefings and discussions. The mission will focus on critical topics shaping the global economic landscape, including trade opportuni- ties, socio-economic challenges, strategic priorities, and technological advancements. By engaging with govern- ment leaders and executives frommajor corporations, New Jersey officials aim to foster investments and part- nerships that can generate growth back home. Mayor Joshi expressed excitement about Edison’s inclusion in the mission, emphasizing the potential benefits for the township’s economy and future development. He said he is proud Edison is being considered for strategic expansion and potential partnerships. As the world moves further into an artificial intelligence era, Joshi noted the mission has a direct impact on Edi- son’s economy, with hopes of attracting major corporations to the township. He added that local economic growth, technological ad- vancements, and educational opportunities will all benefit from the mission. Governor Murphy underscored that the trip is privately funded and not paid for by taxpayers.
