Led by maestro Amjad Ali Khan, the program represented the 6th, 7th and 8th generation of an unbroken chain of musicians coming together on stage and performing together, “Keeping India’s ethos of traditions and legacies alive,” the Kennedy Center program announcement said. The concert features Sarod Grand Master Amjad Ali Khan and his sons Amaan Ali Bangash and Ayaan Ali Bangash on Sarods. They are joined by Ayaan’s 13 year old Twins Zohaan and Abeer. The DC South Asian Arts Council Inc. (DCSAACI) is a registered non-profit organization which de- clares its mission is to provide opportunities to South Asian artists to showcase talent via films, dance, books and art. At the Kennedy Center event, according to South Asian Herald, Khan said he was devoting the pro- gram to India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his 75th birthday which coincided with the date of the Kennedy Center event. Performing since he was 6 years old, Amjad Ali Khan is considered among the greatest sarod players in the world in the 20th century. He is the recipient of numerous awards and recognitions including the Padma Vibhushan from the Government of India, the United Nations, as well as from cities in the US. The second collaboration shares their vision of ‘timeless craftsmanship meets modern couture’, specially focusing on the strength and elegance of women. The Spring 2026 NYFW collection was held at the Pierre Hotel in the heart of Manhattan on September 15th. For this edition, Tanishq and Bibhu paid tribute to women who have shaped history and continue to inspire the present. Mohapatra’s designs—an ode to visionar- ies of 20th-century India—met Tanishq’s artistry which celebrates women’s individuality, legacy, and leadership across generations. Together, the couture vision and Tanishq’s artistry, pre- sented more than 65 exquisite pieces, from the Romance of Polki revival of uncut diamonds to the Enchanted Trails nature-inspired line and Lure, a fresh take on pearls, were curated into the show. “Tanishq USA is honored to continue strengthen- ing our partnership with an iconic designer like Bibhu Mohapatra. Bibhu Mohapatra has been a celebrated name in the global fashion world for decades, dressing iconic figures such as Michelle Obama, Jennifer Lopez, Priyanka Cho- pra, Deepika Padukone, and Viola Davis. His Spring 2026 collection combined traditional silhouettes and modern takes on cult favorites. Looks ranged from cargo pants and kurta to embellished tops and gowns.
