Tripathi has concluded his official visit to the United States, aimed at deepening the India-US maritime partnership and advancing shared strategic interests in the Indo-Pacific region. During the visit, Admiral Tripathi held a series of high-level meetings with senior US civilian and military leaders, including US Secretary of the Navy John C. Phelan, Under Secretary ofWar for Policy Elbridge Colby, INDOPACOM Commander Admiral Samuel J. Paparo, US Pacific Fleet Commander Admiral Stephen P. Koehler, and US Marine Forces Pacific Commander Lt Gen James F. Glynn. He also met Vice Admiral Yvette DeVids, Steve Parode, and Rear Admiral Raymond P. Owens. The discussions focused on the core pil- lars of India-US defence cooperation. Both sides reviewed plans to strengthen maritime security and domain awareness, expand operational interoperability, enhance infor- mation sharing, protect sea lines of com- munication and undersea infrastructure, and coordinate responses to humanitarian assistance, disaster relief, search and rescue, counter-piracy, and other nontraditional security challenges. US Secretary of Navy John C Phelan wrote in an X post, “Earlier this week, I hosted Admiral Dinesh Tripathi, Chief of the Naval Staff, Indian Navy, at the Pentagon. Our discussion focused on further strengthening maritime cooperation, expanding operational coordination, and reinforcing our strategic security partnership that keeps the Indo-Pacific stable and open.” They also deliberated on refining bi- lateral and multilateral exercises such as MALABAR, PASSEX, CMF, and MILAN. Col- laboration in new and emerging domains, including unmanned systems, intelligence- surveillance-reconnaissance, cyber, and space-enabled maritime capabilities, was also a key area of discussion, as per press statement. Earlier, Admiral Tripathi also visited the Centre for Excellence in Disaster Manage- ment and Humanitarian Assistance in Hawaii, where talks centred on boosting coopera- tion and sharing best practices in disaster response, maritime humanitarian opera- tions, and resilience-building across the Indo-Pacific. At the National Defence University in Washington, the Navy chief met its presi- dent, Vice Admiral Peter A. Garvin, and reviewed ongoing cooperation on profes- sional military education, higher learning partnerships, and training exchanges. He also interacted with Indian officers cur- rently enrolled in courses at the Eisenhower School, the National War College, and the College of Information and Cyberspace. -ANI Indian Ambassador Highlights Opportunities For Science, Tech, AI Cooperation With US -WASHINGTON DC I ndia’s Ambassador to the United States, Vinay Mohan Kwatra met Congressman Jay Obernolte and held discussions with him to enhance the cooperation between India and the US in areas such as science, technology, artificial intelligence and innovation. In a post on X, he said, “Enjoyed my conversation with Rep. @JayObernolte , Chair of the House Science, Space, and Technology Research and Technology Subcommittee. Highlighted opportuni- ties for stronger cooperation in science, tech, AI & innovation.” He also held a conversation with Francis Pedraza, the founder of Invisible Technologies on evolving innovation and technology. He shared that Pedraza’s Eternity Civilization Foundation is work- ing on an ambitious project to translate the works of the ancient Nalanda library using AI tools. Ambassador Kwatra wrote on X, “Had a fascinating and instructive conversa- tion with @francispedraza, founder of Invisible Technologies, on the evolving world of technology, innovation, and their contribution to the larger cause of serving our society.Mr Pedraza’s Eternity Civiliza- tion Foundation is working on an ambitious initiative to translate the crucial works of the ancient Indian Great Library of Nalanda using AIassisted methods” Earlier, he held an roundtable discussion with the experts at the Heritage Foundation, a “strong supporter of the India-US ties”, and shared his thoughts on develop- ments under “key pillars” of India-US strategic partnership. In a post on X, Kwatra said, “Had an excellent roundtable discussion with the experts at the @Heritage Founda- tion, a strong supporter of the India- U.S. ties. I shared my thoughts on developments under key pillars of our strategic partnership, including shared economic priorities, a fair, balanced and mutually beneficial trade arrange- ment and oil and gas trade”. He previously met US Congress- man Riley Moore and held discussions on advancing the India-US coopera- tion across key areas such as security, energy and trade. In a post on X, he said, “Pleased to meet with @RepRileyMoore.
