Daley’s support adds to the expanding coalition of Illinois leaders supporting Krishnamoorthi’s campaign. According to press releases from the campaign, the Indian American lawmaker is currently leading the contenders for the Democrat- ic primary scheduled for March 17, 2026. “Raja Krishnamoorthi has the experi- ence and integrity to be the champion that Illinois needs in the U.S. Senate. He is focused on delivering results that better the lives of families across our state — not empty promises or partisan games,” Daley is quoted saying in the press release. A businessman and public servant, Daley is a lifelong Chicagoan, apart from being the son of former Mayor Richard J. Daley and the brother of former Mayor Richard M. Daley. “Secretary Bill Daley has devoted his life to public service and to delivering real results for working families in Illinois and across the country,” said Krish- namoorthi. “His leadership in the Obama White House, the Cabinet, and the pri- vate sector reflects a deep commitment to solving problems and making govern- ment work for people. I am truly honored to have his support and grateful for his trust in our shared vision for Illinois.” Daley’s endorsement adds to a grow- ing list of current and former officials, including Lt.
