www.desitalk.com – that’s all you need to know 22 ENTERTAINMENT October 31, 2025 A courtroom drama based on real controversial inci- dents will release November 7, 2025. “Haq” with actors Emraan Hashmi and Yami Gautam Dhar is inspired by the Shah Bano case from the 1980s, who had fought for alimony after being divorced by her husband. Gautam Dhar plays a Muslim woman, left by her husband, choos- ing to fight for her own and her children’s rights. Emraan Hashmi plays a sharp, celebrated lawyer, and, according to Filmfare, the clash between the two drives the film’s emotional core. The trailer of the film, directed by Suparn S. Varma, has been released and is available online. Reviewing the trailer, Filmfare writes, it begins with glimpses of a love story of the hus- band and wife, but quickly changes to tense courtroom exchanges. In an interview with Free Press Journal, Hashmi has said he takes up such challenging roles as an actor. To him, “Haq” was special as he had to bring in the point of view of a Muslim person. Hashmi further said in the same interview that although the country was divided by the actual case, but for the film, he had to work to bring the viewpoint of the director across, adding a lot of responsibility to him as an actor. “I know that most of them will find it extremely balanced, and ek jo chiz nikalke bahar aati hai, woh hai pro-women. It is a pro-women film”, Hashmi said in his interview. “I think this is a great piece of work. Muslims should really come and watch this film because you will connect with it, in a very different way,” he further said in that inter- view. Filmfare writes how the questions evoked in the film remain relevant even today: where does personal belief end and secular law begin? Is it time for a Uniform Civil Code? “Haq” positions itself as a thought- provoking story that goes beyond an individual battle to a wider national conversation, Filmfare writes. Directed by Suparn S Varma who has also directed films including “Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai”, “The Family Man” and “Rana Naidu”, the film is written by Reshu Nath, produced by Junglee Pictures in association with Insomnia Films and Baweja Studios. “Haq” is set to release in theatres on 7 November 2025. “Haq” With Emraan Hashmi And Yami Gautam Portrays An Intense Courtroom Drama From News Dispatches PHOTO:ANI PHOTO:ZEES courtesyANI Emraan Hashmi and Yami Gautam. V eteran actor Pankaj Kapur will be seen in a piv- otal role with Mona Singh and Kunaal Roy Ka- pur in a series titled ‘Thode Door Thode Paas’. Set against a warm, nostalgic backdrop, the series takes viewers back to a time when conversations were genuine, patience was a virtue, and family time didn’t need Wi-Fi. With its witty and emotional storytelling, Thode Door Thode Paas serves as a timely reminder that some- times, stepping away from screens can bring us closer than ever before — because silence, after all, can speak louder than any notification, an official synopsis read. Director Ajay Bhuyan opened up about his experi- ence creating the series. “Thode Door Thode Paas is one of those stories that never left my mind because of how relevant it feels in today’s world. We’re living in an age of constant digital noise, and this show explores what hap- pens when that noise suddenly stops. It’s not just about going offline; it’s about rediscovering what we’ve lost in the process of being constantly connected. I truly believe Thode Door Thode Paas will make audiences pause, reflect, and maybe even smile at how close we’ve grown to our screens and how far we’ve drifted from each other,” he shared. Kaveri Das, Business Head, Hindi ZEE5, said, “We are proud to bring Thode DoorThode Paas; we’re bringing a story that feels both nostalgic and deeply relevant to today’s times. It’s a gentle reflection on how technol- ogy has changed the rhythm of our relationships and what happens when that rhythm suddenly pauses. The show reminds us that sometimes, distance and silence can bring people closer than constant connectivity ever could. We’re thrilled to present this refreshing and thought-provoking concept to our audiences this festive season on ZEE5.” Producer Manish Trehan said, “From the very begin- ning, Thode Door Thode Paas felt like a story that needed to be told in today’s world. It’s a warm, witty reflection of our times where the biggest challenge isn’t surviving withoutWi-Fi, but reconnecting withthe people around us. Working with Ajay Bhuyan and an exceptional cast led by Pankaj Kapur, Mona Singh, and Kunaal Roy Kapur has been an incredible experience. Each of them brought a great deal of authenticity and depth to their roles. We’re thrilled to partner with ZEE5, a platform that deeply understands the pulse of India and champions stories that blend heart, humour, and relevance. I can’t wait for audiences to log out of their phones for a bit and tune in to this very human story this October.” The series will be out on ZEE5 on November 7. -ANI From Press Release PHOTOS:www.moes-art.com Press Release
